How to use Fengchao.

One line: Fengchao is an AI memory layer that lives on your computer — it captures the conversations and workflows you go through with your AI, so you can pick back up even after a disconnect.

It's not about "remembering more" — it's about: even if you forget, you can get it back.

1. Home

Opening Fengchao lands you on Home. Home does three things: shows the main entry points, shows a lightweight status, and helps you decide where to go next. Entries include: Workspace, Privacy Vault, Manual, Settings, Management.

2. Workspace

Holds content you're actively working on, need to recover, or need to keep executing. Four default cells:

• Mainline: the core thing you're pushing forward
• To-Do: things to do
• Reference: saved material
• Archive: finished history

Below the workspace is a conversation window supporting text input, file drag-in, and copy-paste.

3. Privacy Vault

Holds more private content, locked by default and never auto-read. Four default cells: Relationships / Personal / Finance / Private.

• First use requires setting a password (local SHA-256 verification)
• 5 wrong attempts locks it for 30 minutes
• Password stays local, never uploaded; Fengchao has no backdoor — forgotten means unrecoverable
• Bank cards, passwords, keys, ID numbers are auto-routed into the encrypted vault

4. Candidate Queue (core mechanism)

Content from drag-in, paste, voice, or external agents does not write directly to formal memory — it enters the candidate queue first:

• Pending → editable → discardable → categorizable → mark-private → confirmed by you → formally saved

The candidate queue is the buffer before formal memory — the core mechanism preventing mis-writes and mis-archival.

Before entering the queue, content passes Gatekeeper Bee review — plaintext legal red-line content (explosives, drug trafficking, firearms, child sexual abuse material, terrorist attacks, human trafficking) is blocked. This isn't censorship; it's Fengchao's own compliance baseline.

5. Backup / Migration / Export

• Local backup: one-click package, verifiable, restorable
• Machine migration: back up, restore on a new machine
• Export anytime: standard format, your memory is always portable

6. Agent interface layer

Fengchao supports any compliant external AI. Flow: register → issue credentials → verify → execute → revoke.

• External agents cannot write formal memory directly, only submit candidates
• Cannot read the privacy vault (unless you authorize)
• All operations are audited

7. Dual conversation modes

The API key supports any OpenAI-compatible model (DeepSeek / OpenAI / Ollama, etc.), stored locally, never uploaded.

8. Capacity

Fengchao caps total storage, never features. Two tiers:

Exact pricing and unlock methods are in-app. Hitting the cap only pauses new writes — existing memory is always readable, exportable, and deletable, never locked or wiped.

9. Wake Protocol — seamless agent switch

When a new agent connects, Fengchao immediately returns a full context pack: who you are, where you are, what's pending, core rules, system status. Reading it lets the agent pick up seamlessly — no re-explaining, no digging through chat history.

10. Minors protection

Per PRC law on minors protection and the network protection regulation for minors. Fengchao is a personal memory management tool, intended for adults and not recommended for users under 18.

Usage restrictions

• Under 18 must not independently register or use it in principle
• Where genuinely needed, requires guardian informed consent and full accompaniment
• Guardians may view, export, and delete the minor's records at any time

Personal information protection

• Fengchao does not proactively collect or provide minors' personal information to third parties
• Minor-related data is stored encrypted once a password is set, accessible only to the individual and guardian
• Minors' memory does not enter external antennas, AI processing, or sharing flows
• Deletion: Fengchao provides a local one-click delete tool and instructions, completed by the guardian on-device; Fengchao holds and uploads no user data

Content boundary

• No social, public-sharing, or publishing features for minors; memory is private by default
• The privacy vault is locked to minors by default, requiring guardian authorization
• No ads, no inducement to spend, no marketing targeted at minors

Safety and appeals

• On detecting harmful content or abnormal behavior targeting minors, Fengchao triggers a safety circuit-breaker and alerts the guardian
• Guardians may appeal via the Fengchao email/settings page; Fengchao responds within 5 business days
